What We Are

Pekin Bible Church is an independent Bible church that acknowledges Jesus Christ as head of the church, led by a team of elders, and committed to:

• Worshipping the triune God by listening to Him speak through the Scriptures and then obeying what He said.

• Careful and consistent Bible teaching in classes, worship, and discipleship groups accomplished primarily through verse-by-verse explanation of Scripture leading to personal and relevant application to life living a holy and pure lifestyle in the world and telling a clear and concise gospel to the world.

We Believe:

The Bible Is...

• The inerrant, infallible word of God.

• The final authority under God in the life of the believer.

The Bible Teaches That...

• The one God has eternally existed in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

• Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.

• This Jesus who died, rose again, and ascended to heaven will personally and imminently return for His Church.

• Everyone will be physically resurrected for an eternal heaven or hell.

• All human beings are sinners by nature and are in need of a Savior.

• A person obtains eternal life only by the grace of God through personal faith in Jesus Christ, whose substitutionary death paid the penalty for man's sin.  One is eternally secure having trusted in Christ as the only means of salvation.

Our Vision:

We seek to accomplish our Mission by emphasizing the following BASICS:

Biblical Foundation

We envision an environment that challenges each believer to be growing deeper in the knowledge of Gods' Word and provides opportunities for Bible training at all age levels. Out of this it is our desire that each believer will be developing a biblical worldview and framework for life's decisions.

Adoration and Worship

We envision a people who love God deeply and who joyfully worship Him through relevant, exciting, biblical worship. It is our desire to involve many in a variety of aspects of worship including drama, music, preaching, and testimonies.

Small Groups

We envision a deepening commitment to meaningful relationships by providing opportunities for everyone to be involved in a small group. We believe that small groups allow us to more effectively love and server one another.

Intentional Outreach

We envision a strategy of training and challenging believers to share their faith regularly with the lost both locally and around the world. We envision a team of people dedicated to the task of assimilating visitors, new believers, and others into the regular fellowship of the church.

Community

We envision a community environment that engenders frequent and open communication among the members utilizing the man avenues available such as email, newsletters, bulletins, web page, and prayer chain. We want to encourage spontaneous fellowship and deepening friendships that bond the members together in unity and purpose.

Serving God

We envision a body of believers who are using their gifts in service to the Lord and being equipped for ministry so that all vital ministry areas will have adequate staffing to effectively implement the programs set forth by the body.
